Privacy policy.

Built by Chris provides operational consulting and develops software tools, including Joanne, an internal career-assessment assistant. This policy describes how information is handled when you contact Built by Chris or authorize a tool to access your Google account.

Information we process

When you contact us, we may process the contact details and message you provide. When you explicitly authorize Joanne, the tool may access selected Google Drive files, Google Docs, and Google Sheets needed for career assessment workflows. These may contain job descriptions, career history, candidate profiles, and assessment results. We also process operational information needed to run and troubleshoot the tools, such as execution status and error logs.

How we use information

We use information to respond to inquiries, perform requested assessments, create authorized private reports, maintain tool functionality, and investigate failures. Joanne may send relevant content to an AI service provider to generate assessments. AI-generated findings require human review. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell personal information.

Google account access

Google access is granted through OAuth authorization. The permissions shown on Google's consent screen govern the access you grant. Joanne uses Google APIs to read authorized source material and, when authorized, create private assessment reports. We do not request Google account passwords. Access tokens and refresh tokens are used to maintain authorized access and should be protected as credentials.

Use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Storage, sharing, and retention

Assessment source documents and reports may remain in the Google account and folders used for the workflow. Operational services and authorized processors, including Google Cloud and AI providers, may process data to provide these functions. Access is intended to be restricted to authorized users and services. Information is retained as needed for the requested workflow, security, troubleshooting, or applicable legal obligations; retention periods can vary by system. We do not make private assessment reports publicly available as part of the service.

Your choices

You can revoke an application's Google account access in Google Account connections. Revoking access stops future authorized API access but does not automatically remove existing documents or reports. You can contact us to request information about stored data, correction, or deletion where applicable.

Security

We use access controls and managed infrastructure to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please do not send passwords, access tokens, or other credentials by email.
